Personally, for me, the green / gold version AE-1200WH-1BVDF is the GOAT version of the AE-1200. There are Aliexpress sellers selling these for around £20 - thought of making it into a Deal post but CBA at the time.

I also got the 'blue world map' AE-1100W-1AVDF for around the same price!

And, who knew, but you can also get mini 'screen protectors' for these watches if you're paranoid about scratches.

edit: Actually, had a look, both are OOS at the moment but may reappear - specifically the sellers Cutesliving Store (who often appears on HUKD) and Manufacturer Direct Store (think they've been on HUKD as well). And they're genuine Casio.

SuperDeals, Coins feed, Choice Day (on the app) and codes might bring the price down a bit more. (edited)

I purchased one of these for the 5 alarms each day - perfect when I was caring for someone who had to have medication 4 times a day. That was before smart watches, alexa and the like and worked reasonably well. The watch is still going on its original battery: well over the 10 years and I used to use the light a LOT.

The really really annoying feature was the easy at which the bottom left button could be pressed. Changing the display to a different time zone, or the stop watch etc. More times than I care to remember or mention - that caught me out. I couldn't just glance at the thing, I had to read the fine print, over the top of the time display, to check that it was actually UK time.

It kept/keeps incredibly good time, either by design or I got lucky. It could be that I hadn't set it up properly, as I had to correct the display twice a year as the clocks changed. It was certainly accurate enough that my "radio-control" watch wasn't needed. I did like that one and the way that it wound 11 rotations every time the clocks went back.

Oh, mine is a pretend metal case. It's really plastic coated quite convincingly to look like metal. Not that I am fussed. Soon after I got it, I hit the corner of a brick wall with it quite hard - dinged a chunk out of the plastic case but the glass (that took the brunt of the impact) - barely a scratch.

Still a great design. They should have made a Gshock version too.
