I keep seeing this card appearing for £518 for a while then going higher.
It's just the reference version with the worst cooling and performance.
A decent deal but not a no brainer.

i got this last year for like £519 and it came with starfield. Runs hot and a lot of power consumption. Took me a solid 2hrs to undervolt but is actually pretty good especially considering how disappointing the 7800 XT is.

I think everyone including myself was hoping the 7800 XT becomes the new and more efficient 6950 XT but instead AMD did an Ngreedia and called it 7800 XT when in reality its an updated RX 6800.

Ik, very confusing and all over the place

The fact this is not frozen shows HUKDers are out of touch with current prices.
    7900XT £600
    20gb VRAM ( + 4gb)
    RDNA 3
    15% faster

For £40 more. That's a heck of a lot for your money lol.

The LED logo is RGB on the 6950xt! Worth it just for that over a 7000series lol. (edited)

This would’ve been a good deal I think before the GRE global release and the 7900 XT price drops. Now it’s kinda just what I’d expect to pay at this point.

I remember Merc model was selling for about this price half a year ago - this is good value for the money but the crazy power consumption is a problem (hidden cost). I think with lower prices on 7800xt I'd go with that or 7900xt.

Makes no sense when you can get a decent GRE for £30 less or an XT for £40 more. There was a GRE for under £490 about 3 weeks ago via Amazon.de, so good idea to keep your eyes open for deals like that as well. (edited)

True. Only saving grace is that this can overclock to a 7900xt stock whereas the GRE gets to about 8-10% off a 7900XT once overclocked and that this is a reference version versus the GRE that’s only add in board no reference version.

    I've had a 6950XT for about a year now.

Good card when used raw raster. Word of warning however, it can consume upwards of 350W.. Seen a peak of about 360 on my setup..

Undervolting is key here to get that consistent clock speed and acceptable power usage

It was almost £40 cheaper than this on Amazon earlier this month. I briefly considered buying one. I'd wait and see if it comes back down if you're interested.

Isnt a 7900gre faster than this for the same price

About the same for raster and Ray tracing. GRE consumes a smidge less power.

This can be overclocked almost to a 7900XT stock and the GRE is a bit variable plus no reference design for GRE.

Isn't the 7900 xt about 40 quid more for 7900 xt performance with no overclocking

Just an option for people on the top of their budget that can’t spare £40 more as they’ve spent that on another component of the their build. But yes most can stretch a bit more.

I got this card just under a year ago for £590 from Amazon Spain. It was an upgrade from the 5700 XT, and I've been happy with it. Much better performance and they finally fixed the reset bug for VM/VFIO passthrough setups. I went with this one over the 7000 series, as I've heard a lot of reports that the 7000 series actually performs worse in VR games — but I can't verify that and maybe it's been fixed by now.

Does it seem that performance and stability have improved in a noticeable way with new drivers since you bought the card a year ago?

For anyone getting this good luck gaming in the summer heat wave but also good choice for saving money on winter bills

I have a Pallit 3070 with the loudest fans known to man...I run it at 65% performance to avoid jet engines. One of the big reasons I'm looking to upgrade, is being able to use a GPU to it's full potential, rather than limiting the clock by like 500mhz... I wish there was more coverage of fan performance in decibels! (with trustworthy figures...). Any owners got any feedback on how loud the card is when the fans spin up... distracting? Quiet? (edited)

You've posted this a few times but my Palit Gamingpro 3070 has alright fan noise?
