I bought a used series s from game last week, I'll be honest the gamepass content is pretty crap, not worth full price at all.

Totally disagree. Worth it even just for the first party Microsoft titles like forza, halo, gears, and the classics like fable, doom, goldeneye. And then there’s 100+ more third party titles on top.

A Series X isn't much more, and is much more capable...

    Cold.

Was thinking the same. The fact games load 10 times faster speaks volumes.

Let me just point out that not only is that 1tb of internal memory a god send, but hook this little box up to a 1440p monitor and enjoy it at its best, even if most games ar 1080p, this lil box just makes every game pop on a 1440p monitor, i mean the latest Fallout 4 update run on this at 1440 ultra settings at 60 fps, and it does all that while only drawing 65 watts........a fantastic bit of kit, and i have the SX, but don't use it as it draws 3/4 times the lekky playing the same games.......i only keep it for the disc drive and as a back up.

£280 for what is basically a 720p/30fps console at this stage?

Sorry but regardless of historic pricing this is a very poor deal. If you're hell bent on getting one of these due to budgetary constraints, please consider picking up the standard 512GB console on eBay for £100 less. You can easily add more storage for a lot less afterwards.

If you look around, there are some bargains to be had used for this console. Many people bought them, including myself, before quickly realising just how limited they are. They are not worth it.

I wanted to keep mine as a device for watching films etc on through the Chromium version of MS Edge when it released, but the lack of adblock extension support meant it was worthless for that too. Then MS also came along and made it a lot harder to run emulators on the console.

You can regularly find a used Series X for £300 or so. This console makes no sense at all unless you find one for £100-£150.

I stopped reading after your '720p/30fps' comment.

I also have a Series X Halo limited edition

I yesterday bought a used Series S boxed, controller, cables etc for £110

Ive been playing it on today and everything this solid.

I bought it as the “travel” console. I have the expansion card, plenty of 4TB HDDs to carry with it if needed.

I would suggest against buying this 1TB model and look on the used market.

I did see some black Series S for £170. I had that opportunity to buy, but I wanted to spend as close to £0 as possible on this.

Yeah they are really good for that. You can finally order the upspec xscreen for it from Amazon UK on import as well.

I have the Series X would love one of these as a companion console just can’t justify it with the rest of what I have

Discless X is on the way so may as well hold off for a bit.

What's the difference between carbon black, and just black. Is one supposed to be darker than the other or is it a special shade of black by Farrow and Ball?

Is it possible to use the same ultimate membership on 2 consoles in the same house? Thinking of this for the spare room
    italkapple's avatar
    Yes

You'll find them for less than half this price on FB Marketplace. Used, obviously, but even at new, this is way overpriced.
